Nonprofit gets 7 newsletter signups in two hours

Without spending a penny…

Mercedarian Sisters post

Great picture with a simple request.

Want to get more newsletter signups on the cheap?

Then inspire your audience with an attractive picture and a simple call to action.

A Facebook post with four smiling religious sisters garnered seven names in its first two hours of viewing. About 10 more people signed up in the next few days.

The post, put up by our team working for the Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, simply said, “We would love it if you signed up for our newsletter. Please join us!”

Proper signup form

Below that was a link leading to our Formstack signup form. We use this rather than a Constant Contact form, which sets up within a Facebook tab. This is because tabs are not viewable on mobile devices.

The form required these fields: email, name and state/country.

There were also 67 likes,comments and shares from the post over the next two weeks. One of the respondents said, “Beautiful women of God! God bless u all!”

Always good to get interaction on your Facebook page.

Of the thousands of fans of the Sisters, 16% were reached. That’s about three times the industry standard, according to Facebook.

Newsletter signups are people who are closer to your front door than simply fans, of course.

Just shows what a nonprofit can do with a great picture and a simple request.
