Some six hundred kids and adults showed up for a Chicago-area’s toy shop’s special event last month. The store even ran out of balloons to give away.
The Berwyn, IL specialty toy and hobby shop, Berwyn’s Toys and Trains, got it all without spending a dime of advertising. They used the Facebook Event feature. Store owners watched in amazement as the event signups went up to 1,200. The day’s event included story hours, balloons, tattoos, and prizes.
Berwyn’s Toys and Trains has only 344 Facebook page likes, a modest amount. Local media coverage helped, too.
The toy store attracts customers from as far away as Colorado, and other countries as well. They post about five or six times per week and have lots of pictures.
