A new website designed by our company has attracted 500 unique visitors in its first week without any publicity.
The site that is the home for the movement to canonize a prominent Catholic theologian was completed Nov. 4. The site’s statistics for the Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. Archive and Guild showed that incoming visits came mainly from searches rather than from links.
The website was a rebuild of an older version. It is now completely responsive, meaning that it can be viewed on mobile devices by reformatting page elements to fit smaller screens.
All I can say is that there must be a lot of people searching for articles and information about this man, now officially called by the Vatican “Servant of God.”
The website states,
“The primary purpose of the Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. Archive and Guild is the beatification and canonization of the Servant of God, Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. The guild is primarily concerned with promoting the life and heroic virtues of Fr. Hardon.”
Unexpected prank
The website was a pleasure for me to coordinate, especially since I knew Fr. Hardon before he died in 2000. I once worked for a religious association that was founded by him.
In fact, I’ll have to confess to one humorous incident while there. I was able to imitate his soft and flowing voice, and thus played a trick on the ladies who answered the phone in the office. They fell for the practical joke, and were completely surprised when I changed my voice and admitted that I was not Fr. Hardon.
The Servant of God did have a sense of humor. I hope that he would be able to chuckle over the incident.
