Someone recently asked us, “Why aren’t more fans seeing my posts?”
This non-profit has more than 80,000 fans, and some time ago was getting a better “reach,” which is the number of fans seeing the post.
Well, for one thing, last December, Facebook cut down the reach for all pages. Years ago even they admitted that only 15% at the most of fans see posts of the pages they liked. The number now is closer to 5%.
Here are other reasons, cited by Brian Carter, in his 2014 book, The Like Economy.
- Few fans ever return to fan pages after liking them.
- Only fans who like and comment will see that page’s posts in their News Feeds.
- These big pages aren’t writing posts designed to get likes and comments.
- These pages might not have gotten much interaction in the past, and so Facebook has completely stopped showing their posts to more than 95% of their fans.
Check over these reasons, and find if you can make some improvements to get a better reach.
